Mastering brings out the best qualities in your final mixes, sculpting the songs into a unified album ready for reproduction and playback on any sound system.  It is an important quality assurance phase of the recording process that allows you to make enhancements, and also correct issues within the mix.

In most mastering sessions, the following actions are performed:

* Optimizing average and peak volume levels for proper relative loudness
* Signal processing – compression, EQ, etc
* Arranging tracks in final sequence
* Timing of the space between tracks
* Remove/reduce unwanted noise like clicks, pops, hiss
* Clean up start and ending of each track (including fades)
* Insert Master Track Log – the PQ codes required for replication

Every project involves a unique approach when mastering, and may call for additional treatment to “sweeten” the sound and enhance musicality.
